In the previous edition or with the vanilla SM codex, you can choose the number of marines in a squad just as it fulfills the min of 4 marines and a sergeant. I've looked at the DA as well as the new BA list and have noticed that for most squad you either have to choose between taking 5 or 10 models ( Tactical, scout, Devastator, etc).
